Review

I initially found this book rec on TikTok , I was immediately intrigued by the aesthetic and the book cover (it is pink and cute). When I started the book I was a bit confused in the first few pages , but then I understood what was happening. I liked the fmc quickly and I especially liked the fast pace of this book , like I didn’t have to wait to be in the middle of the story for the action to start. Ok let’s get into detail now.

writing & world building : I loved the writing of this book a lot , it was easy , every word had a purpose and the description of everything was amazing. I had no trouble imagining anything , on the contrary , I was so deeply immersed I wanted to dive into the book. Every thing was so well described , the clothes (they were so pretty by the way), the characters , the places. And the world building was just … OUT OF THIS WORLD!! This was not just your typical pirate story , no.It was a pirate story made fairytale. It sounds crazy , I know. But trust me when I say you will fall in love with everything in that book from the first moment.

characters & plot: I’m gonna start with the characters because WOW.They’re so so well written, I loved every single memeber of the crew especially Donna (fmc) and Calico (mmc).What I loved most about Donna that she’s not weak , but she’s not the strongest person either.She’s just normal.And that’s what made me love her and root for her even more.I was so fed up with the damsel in distress trope and the helpless girl that soon becomes invincible.Her character was both feminine and strong.Calico also was one hell of a pirate.Possibly the hottest pirate I’ve read about.His character is so likable.It’s funny , playful and magnetic all at once.The rest of the crew all felt like family , I really loved their dynamic.The plot is wild , let me just say that this book will keep you on your toes and you will not rest for one second.The plot twists , secrets and mysteries will be thrown at you throughout the book like bullets, be ready to be obsessed!

Romance: The romance in this book is crazy slow burn.The whole book is finished and they haven’t even kissed yet.Yes,that’s how slow it is.That being said , it’s one of the YA best romance I’ve ever read.
