1.Babel

Babel is a historical fiction standalone by R.F Kuang. It follows the main character Robin swift as his life changes in one night from being a poor Chinese kid living with his mom, to an English boy preparing to leave to Oxford. His journey is full of hardship and difficulties as he uncovers the truth about England and what it wants to do to China. It also focuses on themes like friendships , racism and language. This story is truly one of the best I’ve read in the historical fiction genre, but be ready to be heart broken while reading it!

She and her younger sister Zosa live in Durc, they were poor and wished they had a better job to have a better living. Until they stumbled on an invitation to the magical hotel “Hotel Magnifique”.
